We’ve changed our website’s appearance for you. Have you noticed? You’re probably wondering why. Because that’s normal for the websites we create and manage for Business Owners. Our websites are alive, growing and expanding from week to week, and this also requires changes to their design and appearance. That’s our philosophy of action.
INFORMATION DESIRED launched its own website in August 2018. Back then, we were just starting to write about ourselves, about what’s happening with us, how we work. At the beginning, we implemented an experimental layout with a width of 960 pixels.
- If we had made a large, wide layout, then the information would become lost in it, since there’s never a lot of it on websites at the beginning. And after all, information is always the most important thing in INFORMATION DESIRED – Tom Dobrowolski, chief of the Technology Department at INFORMATION DESIRED, explains.
Second of all, it’s a matter of how websites are used by Internet users. - One can observe, when browsing the Internet on a desktop, or simply put, a computer, that there are a lot of websites that are displayed on the monitor without taking up its entire width. That’s usually precisely thanks to the application of a layout with a width of 960 pixels. Why? Because this narrower layout fits well into a smartphone screen – Tom Dobrowolski explains.
- Internet users who browse on their smartphones or other mobile devices don’t actually want the mobile view of a given website, because some of the information isn’t there. They often switch to the desktop view of the website manually. And such a desktop version of the website, with a width of 960 pixels, is displayed better on these mobile devices – adds Tom Dobrowolski.
So an advantage of these 960-pixel layout is that they can be conveniently used on both computers and smartphones.
- This layout also proved ideal for our INFORMATION DESIRED website until the amount of information on it grew too large. At a certain point, it turned out that there was enough information to necessitate an additional column for navigation, so that the user could move through the website easily and find information of interest – our Technology Department chief recounts.
Our new layout, which we have just implemented in both Polish and English version of the website, is not much wider than it was before – it now has 1250 pixels. This resolution, which best fits the size of the majority of laptops available on the market, is also enough to fit the additional navigation column on the left side of our website.
Thanks to these changes, when you visit the home page or any subpage of the INFORMATION DESIRED website, you immediately see the intuitive navigation and our latest news. You will also find our latest photo gallery, videos and company news in this new column on the left side of your screen.
We invite you to follow all these new things!
But we’re not just writing about this to tell you about the changes on our website. We also want to show you that the websites that we create for Business Owners will not be set in stone either. Just like our own website, they will grow and change continuously – not just in terms of the information they contain but also their appearance.
