See how an INFORMATION DESIRED website is born, step by step – part 1.We write a lot about what cooperation with INFORMATION DESIRED is based on when a business owner becomes our investee. We write a lot about what INFORMATION DESIRED’s philosophy of action is based on and how we work with our investees. But we thought that we would like to show you all this with a specific example. See how a website is built from scratch.

Let’s take as our example a company with which we recently started cooperating – it’s a company that makes photorealistic visualizations, 3D visualizations, as well as designs for film and theatre scenography.

Let’s start from the beginning. What happens when both sides – the business owner, or the “investee” in our language, and INFORMATION DESIRED – agree that they want to work together?

We start by assigning one of the INFORMATION DESIRED Partners to take care of the new website project. In this case, it was Alexandra. Alex had two weeks to become acquainted with the activity of the company for which she was to prepare a website from scratch. She contacted the investee, and based on their conversation, she prepared the first few articles about his company.

Minimum scope of information

We always start launching our investee’s new website with the minimum scope of information at our disposal. It’s about getting the website rolling and visible online, so it’s not necessary to describe everything there is to know about the company. It’s enough to write one article about what the given company does, describe its offer, maybe its philosophy of operation, perhaps the customer service process – everything depends on the nature of the business. About five articles and brief information with the company’s contact information are sufficient. That’s all to start with. After that, the website will grow and accrue new information with every passing week.

It is important for Alex to also prepare, besides the few articles about the company, so-called formal and legal articles for the website, i.e. legal memo, privacy policy and cookies policy. Due to legal requirements, every website must include such information.

New domain

During the time Alex was preparing the first articles for the website, INFORMATION DESIRED’s Technical Department bought a new domain. We always build our investees’ websites on a new domain, never before used by the business owner – why? Alex thought of several domains that tie into the investee’s company name, checked their availability through the Technical Department, and then chose one together with the investee.


While Alex was preparing the first articles, the Technical Department was developing the website’s first layout. This is only the first layout, because layouts can change on the websites we build, they do not necessarily last forever. The layout must match the content of the website: its size, type, amount of photos or videos used. As the website expands, the layout may change.


Two weeks went by. And this is where we are nowat. The website’s working version is now ready, but it still isn't visible to the world. Now we show it to the investee, who must authorize the content, check if everything is as it should be and whether the information is consistent with the company's offer.

It is important that the investee only verifies the information, without passing judgment on or interfering in the website’s appearance. We make the decisions in this regard, because we are responsible for the website and we assume the risk with regard to whether it will effectively attract new, lucrative customers.

The website will be launched online any minute now, becoming visible to Google with its first layout. With time, it will be changed to a new one, but that’s a subject for the next episode of this report from the workfront :)
